I have taken a non-traditional path to becoming a scientist. I recognize that my accomplishments and where I am today are due to two things: (1) a few people taking a chance on me and creating opportunities that allowed me to grow as a person and a scientist and (2) an incredible amount of work. I am grateful for what I have been able to accomplish and strive to create opportunities for others that will allow them to thrive in the same way that I have.
